It's a good thing Jeremy was born with such a sense of adventure! He is always suggesting new "fun" ideas and I am always dragging my heels!! :) He has been wanting to take the kids sledding all winter but the kids haven't really enjoyed the sled because it's slippery and they just don't really get it. So usually its a whole lot of work and prep and two screaming crying cold kids who have to pee 5 minutes after getting everything on.
Well we got a wet spring snow and waited for the weather to warm a bit (maybe a little too much...notice the mud). Then we found a good hill and went for a ride...
Ellie was so hesitant at first but she went on the "baby princess hill" (like the bunny slope) and she said "weeee" the whole way down.
James was a champ. "More mommy" after each ride!
It was actually super fun and reminded me of all the hours and hours my brother and sisters and I spent sledding on the hill behind our house.

We of course had to come home and have a tea party with hot cocoa and marshmallows.
I just love these little munchkins. They are in the funniest phase--there is so much joy and laughter that makes my heart overflow. Random dance parties in the living room, jumping on the couch, giddy laughter, funny things they say and do. It's not all sunshine and roses by any means but the good moments are many and priceless.
There are seriously moments with James and Ellie that I wish I could freeze and hold onto forever. I want to soak in every ounce of the good, the bad, and the ugly because these are moments I won't ever get to experience again. It's an exhausting, heartbreaking, gut wrenching job being a parent but the love I have for these kids in boundless and unconditional. They have made me a mama and I am forever changed by that title. They are my sunshine...
Here are some other things we have been up to...
Playing in the rain.
Going to the zoo.
And playing at the park.

Getting lots of practice on our balance bikes...
So excited for more beautiful spring weather, getting our garden started, going for hikes, and lots more playing outside. It's so easy to get caught up in life, it's so easy to let things pass you by and take for granted all that you have. This month especially has taught me to cherish the moments you get, every single one, with the people you love.
You never know how long you will have with them.
